Dying with Mushrooms: learn how to mordant fiber, the importance of pH, extracting dyes, and making pigments

Making Mushroom Paper: learn how to make paper from polypores, create an art journal made entirely from fungi


Cultivation, Culinary, and Art Programs are often combined with Finding Fungi Hikes for a more comprehensive educational experience




Kids are welcomed and encouraged to participate in any program offered above, sometimes organizations working mainly with children will request that we modify the program for specific age levels if they are the main participants.

If you are a part of an organization that serves children such as Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, Summer Camps, Religious Groups, Schools, etc. we can tailor the program for your participants to get the best educational experience possible.




DESCRIPTIONS


Foraging Hikes for Individuals and Small Groups
(up to 8 people, not including kids under 4)

Part 1: Hike a property of your choosing, discuss Fungal Biology, Tree and Fungi ID, Safety while Foraging, Collect Specimens
Part 2: Categorize and ID Fungi Specimens, can be combined with Plant ID also



Want to try growing mushrooms at home or at your workplace?
I can assist with learning cultivation skills, draft a design for your outdoor mushroom garden, or design indoor cultivation spaces for your needs and budget. 

I can consult either in person (preferred), over the phone, or on Zoom. 




If you are a chef or work in the food industry and are seeking an ID for wild fungi - send me a picture and/or specimen in the mail and I will help you find an ID.




If you are planning a special event (ie. birthday party, community gathering) and would like to include mycology education, contact me!
